The doctrine of signatures, is a language of visual and scientifical relationships that was coined by Paracelsus in the Renaissance as a study of correspondences between the vegetal world and the body organs. This old doctrine now resurfaces because of the availability of medical studies that can relate the health of certain organs with the consumption of certain vegetables, roots or fruits.
I have had a couple of shows that included this subject on my first solo show called: Acidic times, Basic bodies (2017) in Salas 770 in Lima, Peru is where I created from this concepts of the food systems and relationships with our bodies and also with food globalization.
On my third solo show called Parallel traits (2020) at the Coricancha museum in Cuzco, Peru I expressed this concepts of food traits found in humans again, expanding them and also by broadening the visual relationships to similarities found in the known universe but also including the food relationships.
